WHEN: Saturday, September 5th 2015, during our Welcome Week.
WHERE: Around Kentville, Coldbrook, New Minas, and the Wolfville area.
WHAT: Charity Day is an annual fundraiser raising money for the Acadia S.M.I.L.E. Program and L'Arche Homefires Wolfville.
WHY: These two organizations have a huge impact on our community and it is important to help whenever we can!
HOW: A bus will be there to transport you and your friends to the location.
Acadia S.M.I.L.E. Program
The Acadia S.M.I.L.E. program provides an environment of play and fun that fosters fundamental motor development for children and youth with varying ability levels. The program also allows Acadia University students, to develop leadership skills, which promotes a lifetime of success. Both student volunteers and participants frequently describe the program as the highlight of their week.
L’Arche Homefires
L’Arche Homefires is a member of the International Organization of L’Arche Communities located all over the world. They are a group of persons with and without developmental disabilities who choose to create community together.
