ASU RATIFIED CLUBS

Clubs and organizations are an important part of Acadia Students’ Union. Not only do they provide opportunities to meet people with similar interests, to do exciting things, and to socialize, but they give students an opportunity broaden their university experience and get involved. Acadia Students’ Union serves to coordinate, promote, and guide the activities of its student clubs. Because these groups are a vital aspect of the ASU, an important part of Union’s responsibility lies in coordinating, funding, and supporting the various organizations on campus.

There are four designations of clubs or societies on campus:

  • Athletic clubs range from dance to fencing, equestrian to mountain biking, snowboarding to lacrosse

  • Academic clubs are those specific to a department at Acadia

  • Co-curricular clubs are equally diverse, and include accounting, model United Nations, pre-law, and debating

  • Social clubs encompass all interests, such as political affiliations, juggling, and different ethnicities

To create a club is extremely easy, and comes with many benefits. By filling out a one-page ratification form and attending one session, you can start any group you like and be eligible to:

  • Book space in the SUB free of charge

  • Book space anywhere on campus

  • Apply to the Student Activities Fund to help fund your clubs event or initiative
