INTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS
Peer Support Centre
A collaboration of some of Acadia’s Internal Organization has resulted in the new “Peer Support Centre”. The Peer Support Centre will be located in the Student Union Building. The Centre is intended to create a safe and positive space for anyone and everyone from the community. The Centre has been developed to promote inclusivity, respect, and support for our peers. The Equity Officer of the Student Union will oversee the Peer Support Centre and the Campus Representation Committee made up of representatives from each organization will make major decisions. The Centre will be comprised of Acadia Women’s Centre, Acadia Pride, Centre for Global Education and the Mental Health Society. By combining all the resources in one location, under one umbrella name, we have the opportunity to take a holistic approach to many of the issues we face on our university campus and create a community of peer support.
