EXECUTIVE

HOMETOWN: Riverview, New Brunswick

YEAR OF STUDY: 4th

PROGRAM OF STUDY: BA Honours in Sociology

WHAT I DO: My job as President is to be the leading voice for students at Acadia University. I work closely with all of the other executives to ensure a safe environment for students to live and learn during their time here. I also collaborate with the administration and student services, external stakeholders, and advocacy groups.

WHAT I CAN DO TO HELP YOU: I can easily connect you with the many services at Acadia, such as accessibility or counseling services. I can also bring any concerns you may have directly to student council, student services, or the university administration. If you would like to become more involved yourself in student council, I can definitely help you figure out the best way to do so.

MY GOALS FOR THE YEAR: I have two big goals for this coming year. On the federal level, I would like to help students learn how they can vote and who they can vote for in the upcoming federal elections, so our collective voice can be heard. Here at home, I will work to create a safe space for all students to live by encouraging conversations and running campaigns about enthusiastic consent and positive sexuality.

FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I’m a huge cat person, and I have a picture of my cat tattooed on my arm.

I hope all students, returning and new, feel comfortable coming to me and the executives with any issue they have, no matter how small it may seem. We are a resource for students and we work hard to serve you and your best interest. Any time you feel like it, come up to the offices just to talk. I’m always happy to meet new people. I look forward to seeing you all in September, and I hope you’re just as excited as I am!
